Sunrise over the Southern Alps Queenstown New Zealand.

The Southern Alps (the native people call it Ka tiritiri o te Moana) is a 500 kilometer long rugged mountain range extending from north to south of the South Island of New Zealand. Along the Southern tip is lake Wakatipu; a beautiful blue/turquoise clean lake. Queenstown, a city noted for its tourism, wraps around the southern tip of lake Wakatipu.
Watching sunrise over the Southern Alps ( Kā Tiritiri o te Moana) and lake Wakatipu is like no other sunrise. The incredible clouds and color changes as the sun tries to breakout from behind the mountains are unbelievable. The sunrays pierce through on top of the mountains finally and the initial rays light up the sky. The reflections on lake Wakatipu is breathtaking. The low clouds on the lake and the sun reflections on the hillside houses, surrounding mountains and the vegetations create an incredible flare that could be blinding and unbelievably colorful.
