Street Foods in Lagos Nigeria

Like every busy metropolis, Lagos Nigeria in West Africa, has its own vibrant street foods. Perhaps the largest metropolis in Africa, Lagos has to feed its people. Street foods are usually fast foods, cooked by the roadside on a grill, in a truck, or ferried to the roadside by trucks, cars, wheelbarrows, or transported on the head. They are served under a makeshift shed or umbrella, under a shade or in the open come rain or shine.
These foods are usually very affordable for the artisans or labourers or regular folks who need a quick bite as they go about their daily chores. These foods are usually nutritious but may be served in a rather dirty surroundings and may be exposed to flies, roadside dusts, or water splash, particularly when it rains.
Observing these folks as they transact quick business and people grab their foods and on their merry ways with money changing hands, you cannot but be impressed by their ingenuity and employment opportunities provided. It is a vibrant part of the economy.
